A Message From Father Greg

Welcome to the Web Site of St. Charles & St. Hyacinth Parishes,

The communities of St. Charles and St. Hyacinth are very diverse. I believe we have something for everyone. As you look through this site you will find ways for for everyone to become involved. There is a Youth Group for kids, a Seniors Group for people over 60 and Altar-Rosary societies just to name a few.

Our communities gather for worship every weekend to break open the Word of God and to celebrate the Eucharist, keeping many traditions alive. The first weekend of October, we celebrate Eucharistic Devotions. During Advent and Lent we celebrate Reconciliation. There is the annual food blessing on Holy Saturday, a Palm Burning ceremony on the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday and don't forget the Fish Fries throughout Lent. You can pick up a quart or two of Duck Soup with homemade noodles in November. There is a celebration of the crowning of Mary in May. In February there is the blessing of throats in memory of St. Blaise. There is a choir at each church; one sings Saturday (including a Polish hymn), the other on Sunday.
 
Our parishioners come from all walks of life. The young and the old. The Polish and the Irish. The German and the French. The Nigerians and the Latinos. We all gather for the same reason; to be a family that gives thanks for our Catholic Faith.
